Michelle & Mehrdad | Cielo Farms & Saddlerock Ranch, Malibu

What started off as a 450 person Beverly Hills indoor glamour Ballroom wedding turned into a soft sophisticated farm wedding in the heart of Malibu Canyons for 90.  Michelle and Mehrdad changed wedding dates several times and landed on the hottest day of 2020. But Labor day weekend was perfect for Covid as high temps were in our guests favor.   We started off the wedding at Cielo Farms with a lush chuppah made of white and cream blooms with soft flowy greenery which helped shade the couple and family during the ceremony. A last minute add on of water misters surrounded the guest seating, while Marks Garden brought in plenty of extra floral to replace any wilted flowers.  Hydrangeas drink lots of water and once sun hits it, it is literally cooked.  Guests moved across the street to Saddlerock Ranch where we transformed their lawn with wood flooring and white carpet to create the white cloudy foundation Michelle dreamed. Her overall design started with the pale wood upholstered round back chairs from Premiere Party. They were the perfect color and style to set the tone for the rest of the reception.  We added a multi level truss structure with crystal chandeliers to frame the Sweetheart table. When you are in the middle of a field, we had had to create a focal point or else the table gets lost.  The added blooms and greenery hid our fabric liner and components.  When adding anything heavy and metal based, its never pretty unless cover it up properly.  Subtle accents of gold and creamy ceramic plates added texture to the tables.  Because a traditional Persian sweets table was not acceptable during Covid, we ordered individual acrylic boxed treats for guests to enjoy or take home. I especially loved the hand painted details on the macarons.
