Their ceremony site was dreamy with the draped rotunda, stunning peacock bird displays made from flowers, and a picture perfect dove release after their first kiss as husband and wife. There reception continued with the romantic vibe inside the Mar Vista Ballroom through the lush flowers and candles….kudos to Nisie’s Enchanted Florist. My first step in the planning process was to solidify a venue. I have the privilege of working at some of the most amazing properties, but I wanted something that was going to feel like my wedding and not like I was going to coordinate a client’s beautiful event. Joel and I decided that we wanted a tented wedding reception, a dream of mine since as long as I can remember. We came to the decision that my hometown of Bakersfield was perfect and we had just the spot in mind. My aunt and uncle have a great property full of almond trees and a spacious horse riding arena.

Joel looked so handsome! It is not everyday I get to see him in a tux!

I wanted to keep the color palette neutral, focusing mainly on black and white for the reception and all white at the ceremony to accent the green in the almond trees. I also loved the idea of having my bridesmaids in all white dresses, each picking out their favorite style and something they loved.

I cannot thank White Lilac enough for creating the décor for my dream wedding! It was all more than I could have hoped for and it completely took my breath away. Everything was stunning from the lush ceremony floral and the charm of the rustic table to the glam of the tented reception.

Some of my favorite memories of the wedding day were after the ceremony concluded. Walking around the almond trees with my new husband was surreal.

Shout out to Elaine with Papermade Designs for creating my invitation suite. The invitation was the first glimpse into the wedding for all of my guests, and I could not have been more pleased with the end result.

Hugs to Rachel Baker, Rachel Jane Couture, for the awesome wedding details! Instead of traditional escort cards, I wanted to have something a little bit more fun. We decided on having escort stir sticks that were placed in a signature cocktail. St. Germain and champagne, of course!

Walker Lewis created the white tent and carpeted flooring for the reception. White Lilac brought in all the decor including my must-have chandeliers and transformed the space into pure elegance.

Thank you to Sara Heslington, Heslington Cakes, for the wedding cake! I changed to a fun dancing dress for the cake cutting that let me dance the night away!

To add some unique twists to the reception, I surprised Joel with his own special area, which we called his “man cave,” and combined two of his favorite things, scotch and baseball. My favorite part was seeing his baseball cards from his playing days on the tables, especially his little league cards.

When planning Joel’s “man cave”, I thought I might as well have something just as fun for the ladies in a girl section of the tent, which we made pink, sparkly, and totally girly.

Looking back on these wedding photos brings back the best memories. I cannot thank everyone enough who helped create the wedding I had always envisioned. Many thanks to Elysium Productions for my touching wedding video and Ira Lippke, Ira Lippke Studios, and Jane Hong for capturing our day so perfectly. I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life!

The decor was uber elegant and classy with clean flowers in white and hints of burgundy. Props to White Lilac for the design that was Shannan & Dennis’s vision. A mix of round and rectangular tables were added to the Mar Vista Ballroom to create visual interest. One of my favorite decor aspects were the clean look of the glass candelabras. Melissa & Joe make a stunning couple and their wedding was full of dreamy romance! Bravo to White Lilac for the gorgeous designs. The ceremony was an English Garden fantasy with gold gates covered with lots of greenery, roses and hydrangeas. The pinks draping on the Rotunda and hanging chandeliers and garlands of orchids made the inside of the structure tie in the elegance Melissa was hoping for, while still keeping a garden feel. As guests transitioned from the ceremony to the dinner reception, the design also transitioned from the English garden into an elegant country home. One of my favorite decor elements was the accent walls covered in vintage sconces and lavish mirrors.
